Saurabh Manthapurwar, from India, completed a Master’s in Computer Science, majoring in Data Science, at UCD before joining CeADAR’s Work Ready Graduate Programme to gain practical experience of working in Data Science and Machine Learning.
“The experience has been fantastic with the people at CeADAR and with the client,” he says. “CeADAR has taught me how to interact with high-value stakeholders and get the maximum potential from data for driving business decisions.”
As part of the programme, Saurabh has been placed with software, process and energy experts Ultan Technologies where he has been tasked with exploring and cleaning energy usage data with the end goal of predicting customer energy usage. “I have been learning a lot in my current role. Interpreting the results of Machine Learning models for business and non-data-related stakeholders is a key factor in the profile of a Data Scientist,” he says.
Saurabh’s long-term goal is to lead projects in the field of Data Science merged with software engineering. He cites gaining practical experience in the real world of business as a key benefit of the programme.
