Ankit Kumar, who is originally from Pune in India, joined CeADAR’s Work Ready Graduate Programme to start a career in Data Science after completing an MSc in Computer Science (Negotiated Learning) at UCD.

“It has been an amazing experience. CeADAR Data Scientists provide guidance and mentorship to each graduate, and we can share our concerns or get guidance on any issue we might be facing,” he says.

Ankit’s WRGP placement is with leading Irish IT consultancy firm Version 1 where his work is focused on developing client solutions in the area of text, form and image processing using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. His work has involved finding solutions to new, unexplored problems and solving complex business issues. “Throughout the Data Science process, from problem identification to solution implementation, I believe I can have a positive impact on the company. This makes me feel incredibly accomplished,” he says.

Ankit’s long-term goal is to become a subject matter expert in a particular field of Data Science such as Machine Learning or Predictive Modelling. He cites CeADAR’s webinars and weekly seminars as particularly beneficial aspects of the programme.
